AMPHIGENE: NASA HUDCO Competition Entry, 2012
This was a team effort to propose changes and design solutions for the slum/sub-altern redevelopment of a stretch of slum line along the river Coovum, in Madras. It involved documentation of existing living conditions, preferences and needs, occupation and livelihood and the aspects of sanitary conditions. Alternate proposals were introduced to better the existing conditions with the main emphasis being laid on improved sanitary and services systems, better ventilation and more durable materials of construction and improved social spaces.
