Traveling to new cities is one of my most favorite things to do. To look at a city through its architectural, urban design, historical, socio-cultural and political lens really gets me going as it engages all my faculties. I recently went on a small road trip in Georgia hitting Atlanta, Savannah, Tybee and Whitemarsh Islands, Sylviana, and surrounding places. It was a soulful trip and I learned much more about American history than I originally knew, and it was eye-opening. This is a small exploration of me making a few mini drawings along the way in Georgia as time would permit. Georgia has a lot of history, even overwhelmingly so, sometimes. It's beautiful but its history is haunting in more places than one.
